SMART & LIVEABLE CITIES

skystudio Architecture perceive urbanism as a catalyst that prompts individuals to embrace a distinct—more sustainable, more communal, more livable—future. We advocate for the significance of urban density in curbing the land-intensive expansion of cities globally. From our perspective, urbanism encapsulates everything.

TECHNOPOLE INTERVENTION
The project stands on par with various interventions, recognized as a pivotal expansion of Dundee's city center. While the city center has undergone significant changes in recent years, this project aims to offer comprehensive solutions for connected areas, drawing inspiration from leading examples like Copenhagen and Stockholm. Its goal is to forge a brighter future for Dundee.

Blackness Road Dundee

The street is lined with residential buildings and features various typologies, encompassing areas such as a campus, college, factory, and a park.

HAWKHILL ROAD --- OLD Hawkhill

The introduction of Hawkhill Road significantly altered the area's dynamics, offering fast traffic lanes that brought the city center closer for cars. However, it also created a separation within the community of students and residents in Blackness, requiring them to travel across the street, impacting their sense of unity.

Zoning

"Our strategy to address the area's fragmentation was to implement zoning, identifying the area's opportunities and characteristics. We designated zones based on nature, residential spaces, and high-density mixed-use, especially for the last two zones."

Section | Elevation

The primary sections showcase the area's character through its streets and current street utilization. It's noteworthy that the majority of identified green spaces are privately owned.
