RSPB: Bird Watching Visitor Center Lochwinnoch
The Royal Society for the Protection of BirdsThe project is located within the natural reserve at Lochwinnoch, where the new building would accommodate RSPB offices, a tourism center, a cafe restaurant, workshops, and an observatory tower. The design concept focuses on the quality of light and circulation experience throughout the space. A generous entrance and a viewpoint straight through the building frame the view of the lake. Staff office and restaurant are strategically decided by a path. The depth of the path allows the build-up of layers and hierarchy of space, as well as allowing natural daylight to penetrate deep spaces. Offering a whole new experience for visitors and users while minimizing the visual impact of the building in the natural landscape.
